Comparing two schedules on projectcontrols.online: the one you planned, and the one you got. The Guide calls them Target and Update.
In Files, open the folder with both versions. Then Tools, and Compare Schedules. A bar appears with two empty slots, Target and Update. It is picking: click rows in the list below.
Click the earlier schedule: a Target badge lands on its row and the slot fills. The plan, fondly remembered. Click the later one: it takes the Update badge, and Run comparison wakes up. Press it.
Picked them the wrong way round? The arrows between the slots swap them. It runs in the background. Report Collections, on the left, is where it turns up.
Under Comparisons the new row is Running until it is Ready. Double-click it, or choose View. The Comparison Dashboard: target on one side, update on the other, and the difference between.
Activities added and deleted, calendar changes, and which starts and finishes slipped. Some always do. The critical path trend, the longest path trend, and what happened to the milestones.
Cost compares budgets and period performance, update against target. Details lists every change: more than four hundred points of comparison, each with a tick box.
Tick a few and two buttons appear, top right: the selected rows as a Word report, or as Excel. Reports, beside them, exports everything as Excel or Word, with the DCMA report alongside.
The reports, the details and the print work exactly as in the analysis dashboard; that video has the detail. Later, the row's menu gives the main downloads without opening the dashboard. Delete sits there too, patiently.
That was comparing two schedules. Next in the Guide: Excel files, look-aheads and schedules alike, and how PC.o reads them.
