Making Excel from a schedule on PC.o: a look-ahead for the field, or the whole schedule as a sheet. The Guide approves of round trips.
Open the schedule in the Gantt viewer. Export holds Look Ahead and Excel Gantt. Look Ahead first. Choose the dates the field should see, any custom fields to carry, and Download. Simplicity itself.
PC.o's own template, with the activity ids inside. Upload it back and it comes in as a look-ahead. The editor paints the week grid, D per work day. Choose Character for letters; Schedule ID matches later.
Excel Gantt exports the whole schedule as one sheet. Whatever the viewer shows, the filters do not travel. Upload that, and PC.o reads it as an Excel schedule: mappable, viewable, convertible. Never analysed.
A look-ahead's own menu keeps View Excel: the workbook as it was uploaded, for a quick look. The sheet, as sent to the field. Round trip complete. Satisfying.
That was Excel from a schedule. Next in the Guide: exporting a schedule to another format, and cleaning it on the way.
