The chart is not a picture of the schedule; it is the schedule. Here is how to read it, move it, print it, send it.
Red is critical, blue has float, a diamond is a milestone, the dashed line is the data date. Zoom in for days. Pinch does the same on a touch screen.
Zoom out and the weeks fold into months, one click at a time. Fit puts the whole schedule in the window.
In View, Timescale picks the header: weeks of days, months of weeks, up to half-years. Month over weeks: the header climbs a level, and the same bars take less room.
Drag a bar and it moves: the engine pins it with a constraint, and the grid's dates follow. Drag a bar's end and the duration changes. In Auto, links and float follow at once.
In View, Logic lines is ticked: every link is drawn. On a big schedule the chart asks first. Activity calendars shades each activity's own non-working days. Untick it and only the project calendar shades.
The pop-out is its own window, without the app's menus, with the PC.o mark beside the schedule's name. Open File, choose Export, then Print to PDF, which asks a few questions first.
Choose orientation, one page wide or across pages, page size, which rows, and a header of your own. The page shows the grid and chart as on screen; the footer has PC.o and the page count.
Share link, Live link: the Pop-out link is the one to send to folder members. Copy it. Row height: comfortable for reading, compact for a long list. The bars keep their size.
Mobilise is done, Excavate is split by the line, and the rest is still to come.
That was the chart. Next in the Guide: calendars, which days count and why a finish moved.
