Four kinds of people make schedules.
The new PC.o Scheduler has a way of working for each, and one way of keeping them current. Never scheduled anything? Type a list, one activity per line, the duration after the name.
Simple mode shows six columns, links by name, and dates that follow every change. Know Microsoft Project? Standard opens your MPP files, and behaves similarly in hours per day and split tasks.
Handed a P6 file, no expert? Simple mode: type a link with its lag, then Save as. A P6 expert? Advanced: retained logic, a lag calendar, float type, and what counts as critical.
Switch engine moves between them: a dry run first, a conversion log, and a Revert. You have built a schedule, or someone sent you one, and it needs keeping current.
Ten updaters come with the Scheduler: assign an owner's e-mail to activities; more come in packs of ten. Ask the site for an update: choose the activities, a data date and a due date, and PC.o e-mails each owner a personal link.
No account and nothing to install: the owner opens the link, on a phone if that is what they have. One card per activity: the planned date beside each field, Actual or Estimated, a note, and how far off plan the answer is. It saves as they type.
Submit closes the link. The answers wait for you; the schedule has not moved. Review every answer with its effect on the schedule: accept it, edit it, or reject it.
Apply, and the schedule reschedules: actuals become actuals, estimates become expected dates. Nothing moved until you said so. Or mark progress yourself: set the data date, and update what should have happened by then.
There is more, each with its own video. Float and the critical path, worked out for you. The Gantt: red is critical, blue has float, diamonds are milestones.
Calendars decide which days count, and move the finish when they change. Costs follow the schedule, and the cashflow redraws live as dates move.
Share a state, or a live link that follows your edits. Run analysis on a copy; pin a baseline and read the variance.
Export XER, P6 XML or Excel when the site wants it back. The Scheduler is an add-on to Basic or Pro: view-only if it lapses, and nothing is deleted.
That is the Scheduler. Pick your way of working, send your first update request, and the detail videos are next. The Guide will be nearby.
