No file, no import: a schedule from nothing, typed as a list. Here is the dialog, the list, and the first links.
Inside a folder, open Files and choose New schedule. It is created in the folder you are in. Name it, pick the engine and the calendar, set the start date. The engine can be switched later.
Press Create with no name and it asks: Give the schedule a name. Fair enough. More settings holds the data date, a must-finish-by, and the activity IDs: a prefix, a start, a step.
A new schedule starts on Auto: it reschedules after every change, because there is nothing to protect yet. Create, and the schedule opens empty, in Simple mode, with a list waiting to be typed.
One activity per line, a duration after it. Two spaces make a level. Zero days makes a milestone. Add, and the list becomes activities: two groups and a milestone. Every bar starts on the start date.
Select an activity and open Details: the Basics tab holds name, dates, duration, percent done, and After. Links by name: type what this one comes after, and press Enter. The bar moves at once.
Or select two rows and press Link selected: each starts when the one above it finishes. A schedule made here saves as you go, and Auto keeps it up to date.
Simple is six columns and links by name. Full is every menu: options, resources, calendars, updates. Back in Files, the schedule has its own row, ready to open, edit or share like any other.
That was a schedule from nothing. Next in the Guide: editing activities, cell by cell and bar by bar.
